Wenne Alton Davis, a 60-year-old actress from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, died Monday night after a vehicle struck her in Manhattan. Police report a 61-year-old man driving a black 2023 Cadillac XT6 was making a left turn when he hit Davis. The driver remained at the scene and was not injured. Antoni Porowski of Queer Eye will host a four-part travel docuseries for National Geographic in 2026. The series, Best Of The World With Antoni Porowski, will bring National Geographic’s Best Of The World list and book to life. The show will feature Paris, Mexico City, London, and New York City. Tony Dokoupil will be the next anchor of CBS Evening News, beginning January 5th. The announcement came Wednesday on CBS Mornings, where Dokoupil currently serves as co-host. He succeeds a series of anchors who struggled to lift the program from third place behind ABC and NBC. Dokoupil plans to travel nationwide during his first month to meet viewers. (Story URL)
Madeleine Wickham, known worldwide by her pen name Sophie Kinsella, has died at age 55 after being diagnosed with glioblastoma. Her family confirmed that she passed away peacefully. Her 2000 novel Confessions of a Shopaholic launched a bestselling series and inspired the 2009 film adaptation. Her 2019 book Can You Keep a Secret? also became a movie. (Story URL)
Netflix has announced a new three-part documentary series focused on the Natalee Holloway case. The project features Natalee’s mother, who shares her perspective on the investigation and her daughter’s disappearance. Natalee vanished in 2005 while visiting Aruba with college friends. Lucy and Desi: The Greatest Story Never Told, is planned as a three-season drama spanning their early years, rise to fame with I Love Lucy, and eventual separation. TikTok will debut a new live podcast series called TikTok in the Mix tonight. The four-part series, created in partnership with T-Mobile, opens with guest Demi Lovato. She will join host Jack Coyne of Trackstar to discuss recording her latest album.
