The soundtrack to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 just pulled off a rare chart moment. Billboard’s Feb. 21 Billboard 200 lists the album debuting at No. 29, placing it among only a handful of video game soundtracks to reach the chart’s top tier since the ranking began in 1956.
Chart tracking data cited by Billboard shows the vinyl edition drove the result, selling 24,000 copies in its first week. That marks the biggest modern era vinyl sales week for a game soundtrack since Luminate began electronic tracking in 1991. The vinyl release also opened strong across multiple tallies, including No. 1 on Classical Albums and Classical Crossover Albums, plus high debuts on Vinyl Albums, Top Album Sales, and Independent Albums.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launched in April 2025 and later won game of the year at The Game Awards, with nine total wins. The score was composed by Lorien Testard and features vocals from Alice Duport-Percier. The complete 154 track edition was first released digitally in 2025, then expanded physical editions arrived in early February 2026
