Halloween is bringing familiar spooky favorites back into the spotlight, with Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Tame Impala’s Dracula emerging as the most-streamed Halloween songs in the days leading up to October 31.
Early streaming figures released ahead of the holiday identify both tracks as leaders, highlighting the continued popularity of established seasonal hits alongside contemporary releases.
Jackson’s Thriller, originally released on his landmark 1982 album, has become a Halloween staple. Its distinctive sound, horror-inspired lyrics, and iconic music video have helped keep the song closely associated with the holiday for more than four decades.
Tame Impala’s Dracula represents a newer addition to Halloween listening habits. The track’s strong streaming performance places it alongside one of pop music’s most recognizable seasonal songs.
Halloween traditionally brings renewed attention to tracks associated with monsters, ghosts, and supernatural themes. Songs such as Monster Mash and Ghostbusters have also enjoyed recurring popularity during the season.
With Halloween approaching, the early streaming results show how both classic recordings and newer music continue to shape the holiday’s soundtrack.
